Harman Writing Desk

Description

Back sometime in the late 90's, my father commissioned me to design a writing desk for his home office. At the time I had just started to explore learning about woodworking. The piece was way over my woodworking ability level at the time (besides, I had no shop or power tools!) and so I asked my friend Ethan Horowitz to craft the piece. The top is a beautiful piece of book-matched curly maple and the frame is hard maple. Ethan did a great job, but since I did not design any drawer pulls, he didn't provide any. Well, the drawer pulls were within my ability range at the time and so with some curly maple and walnut scraps, and my trusty Japanese hand tools, I made the handles.
